Title: Computational Multiphysics (CMP) Method and Its Applications
Abstract:
Computational Multiphysics (CMP) method for simulating complex process effects remains very challenging tasks even with nowadays. This talk will address some very effective computational MP method applied to problems relevant to various complex problems, and it will give both a review of the state of the art in the respective fields and show more recent progress, including general computational MP method, numerical efficiency and accuracy, handling of complex 3-D multiscale structures, validation of simulated results, and even high performance computational MP method and its applications for characterizing very complex 3D problems. It will provide for both research engineers and scientists who are active in MP study and application.
Biography:
Wen-Yan Yin (M’99–SM’01–F’13) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Xi’an, in 1994. From 1993 to 1996, he was an Associate Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnic University, Xi’an, China. From 1996 to 1998, he was a Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Duisburg University, Duisburg, Germany, granted by the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, Bonn, Germany. From Dec. 1998 to Oct. 2005, he was with the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a Research Scientist. From April 2005 to Dec.2008, he was a full Professor in the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. Now, he is also the Adjunct Professor and Ph.D. Candidate Supervisor with the Center for Microwave and RF Technologies of SJTU. In January 2009, he joined the Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, as a “Qiu Shi” Distinguished Professor. As the leading author, he has authored and coauthored more than 280 international journal articles, including about 180 IEEE journal papers. Dr. Wen-Yan Yin is the IEEE Fellow since 2013, the Associate Editors of IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) and IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques (MMCT), respectively.
