标题: Applications of Fabricated Nano-Carbon Material from Different Agriculture Biomass Residues in water treatment
摘要:
Fabrication of Nano-carbon materials from agriculture biomass residues is considered one of the most attractive option from an economic as well as an environmental viewpoint. Saudi Arabia can be considered as one of the major biomass producing countries, where a huge amount of biomass wastes such as municipal solid wastes, agriculture residues, and sewage wastes are produced annually. Thus, the goal of this study is to fabricate Nano-carbon materials from different agriculture biomass residues through slow pyrolysis processes and study their application in water treatment by using adsorption and bio-adsorption processes. The results showed that the total amount of biomass wastes produced annually in Saudi Arabia is around 31.5 million ton. The fabricated Nano-carbon material from different agriculture resides of the nanoparticles showed an average diameter ranged between 10 to 20 nm and a high surface area (from 385 – 1473 m2/g).  These characteristics are confirmed by a high adsorption capacity (35-193 mg/g) and bio-adsorption capacity (19-181 mg/g) to remove phthalic acid esters reached from aqueous solution. Thus, these findings can maximize the benefits of biomass residues, keep environment clean and support decision-makers in developing strategies for the sustainability usage of biomass residues.
