IoT aims to connect each and everything useful in this world over the internet using a wireless network of sensors. Thus the important components like Bluetooth, RFID, Wi-Fi, 4G-LTE and the promising 5G becomes the core. Job Scheduling for cloud based frameworks including IoT is considered to be NP complete due to the heterogeneous network elements and the participants. 

This talk aims to present some job scheduling frameworks with an emphasis on optimizing the response time for the IoT networks. The methodology includes the use of Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensuring tracking and recordkeeping of the movement of goods in the chain starting from the supplier to the end retailer or customer which is also one of the key requirements in IoT based job scheduling. A proper route selection in SCM and IoT ensures a good trip time thus reducing the energy consumption and wastage which decides the efficiency of both the systems. Since, IoT involves of large number of sensor nodes, generating and aggregating data, clustering becomes very useful by grouping objects with suitable and similar attributes. A framework for response time aware scheduler considering clustering will be discussed.
